El Sr. Kato comenzó a fabricar bolígrafos a la edad de 19 años, después de que su padre, que también era fabricante de bolígrafos, muriera poco antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Se dice que el Sr. Kato mantuvo una gran cantidad de celuloide enterrado en su jardín, y al final de la guerra lo desenterró y comenzó su propia empresa de bolígrafos, con el nombre homónimo de Kato Seisakusho Company.

Mr. Kato started making pens at the age of 19, after his father, who was also a pen maker, died shortly before the Second World War.
It is said that Mr. Kato kept a large quantity of celluloid buried in his garden, and at the end of the war he dug it up and started his own pen company, eponymously named the Kato Seisakusho Company.
